Is it a barrier? Yes
Type of Barrier Regulatory gap, Economic barrier
Assessment Severity
2
Assessment There are no specific restrictions that constitute a barrier to hydrogen motorcycles or quadricycles. The introduction of a new CO2 fee will work in favour of electrical and hydrogen motorcycles, as compared to conventional ones. However, the market in Norway is limited due to climate/weather conditions. A large share of the motorcycles and quadricycles in the country are bought mostly for recreational use, and in such cases the fee/cost may matter less than for vehicles that work as main means of transport.
