Assessment There are legal gaps for the use of fuel cells and associated fuels and the development of fuel infrastructure that limit or even block the use of fuel cells for ships. In IGF Code the use of fuel cells as power generating equipment in ships is not regulated and also the requirements for storage and use of hydrogen as a fuel in ships are missing.
