This LAP¨refers to the quantity and pressure limitations. It underlines what are the requirements and limitations in terms of pressure and quantity of hydrogen for hydrogen transport. Finally, it shows if it is possible to increase the pressure/quantity, and if yes which authority is competent, what is the process to follow, how long does it takes and what are the costs associated if known.
There are no formal H2 quantity limitations in weigth for the H2 transport. The only limitations are: the maximum weight for witch the transporting vehicle has been approved, and the maximum volume of the type of transporting vessel (450 L for cylinders and 3000 L for tubes)
Is it a barrier?

This LAP has only an impact on the investment costs for a new type of transporting vessel for H2. The development of new types of high pressure vessels for H2 transport, have relatively high costs and long duration, as there is a need to pass a specific type of approval procedure.
This standard gives general advices and guidelines for the construction and control procedures for pressure vessels used in the road transport for dangerous goods. The ADR agreement is referring to this standard for the construction of these pressure vessels in France. t
There is no limitation in terms of pressure, (mostly transported at around 200-300 bars) In terms of quantity, the limitation is connected to the maximum weight the truck can transport.
